At the heart of every Wiese conveyor drive system is the outstanding Wiese heavy-duty rubber block chain.
It is far superior to metal chains because it has no links, is silent-running, wear-resistant and virtually maintenance free – qualities further enhanced by its corrosion-free design. Moreover, operation with the rubber block chain is extremely cost-effective as there is no need for lubrication, regular adjustment and re-tensioning. Maintenance costs are reduced to a minimum.
High tensile strength is obtained through steel cables vulcanised in the centre of each chain and this also ensures the rubber chain is stretch-free. Rubber chains can be either endless (with a vulcanised joint), or connected by a link connector. Each chain has upper and lower blocks where the lower block is for the drive and the upper block is for connection, via connecting rods, of the buckets and platforms. The drive shaft has drive wheels which mesh with the lower blocks.
The Wiese rubber chain is manufactured in-house at our manufacturing sites in Germany and, depending on the application, a number of rubber material options are available – black Neoprene (CR), EPDM, HNBR and NR/SBR or light coloured, food grade Perbunan (NBR).
Wiese rubber chains are available in conductive (antistatic) material that are ATEX compliant and in the unlikely event of damage to the rubber chain, it is possible to repair the belts on site.
